Author Guideline
THE 4TH INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON SCIENCE EDUCATION [ICOSED] IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE 2ND INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON ENVIRONMENTAL AND SCIENCE EDUCATION [ICESSEd] 2024
A. Conference:
1. Create an account on the conference website at the registration link by filling in the author’s biodata. If you already have an account, please log in by entering the correct username and password.
2. Research article submission files are submitted in file format in the form of .docs (Ms. Word)
3. Submit abstract & full paper which will be included in the “make a new submission” feature at the The 4th ICOSED in Conjunction The 2nd ICESSEd conference activity on submission link. Done by filling in the required data and don’t forget to tick the required section.
5. Complete the 5 stages in the submission process until a successful submission statement appears and there is already on the list of submit authors.
6. Periodically check the progress of the submission file in the “view submission” feature found on view submission link.
7. Furthermore, the abstract review process is carried out, revise the article based on the comment. If the information is acceptable then the abstract can be continued or accepted.
8. Make payment of the fee according to the author’s characteristics via the Bank Negara Indonesia (BNI):

9. After the payment has been successfully made, confirm at the payment on payment confirmation form link.
10. After the payment is confirmed, a Letter of Acceptance can be issued.
11. The next stage is carried out with a blind review process for the full paper
12. At the review stage, the article will be checked by using a plagiarism application (recommendation using turnitin.com) with a maximum tolerance level of 20%. Then it will be forwarded to the reviewer for review.
13. Pay attention to notifications if the submission has new notes or comments on the feature view submission link.
14. Make sure to fill out the attendance confirmation form to ensure the presence of the author/presenter offline or online during the conference and parallel sessions attendance confirmation form link.
15. Before the conference, the committee will share the conference schedule and parallel sessions conference schedule and parallel sessions link.

B. Parallel Session Guidelines
1. You are required to be in a parallel session during your slot. Please standby at least 10 minutes before your parallel session starts.
2. The list of rooms, presentation time, PIC room, reviewers, and presenters will be shared by the committee in a file parallel session.link.
3. Presenters who have the opportunity to attend offline will present directly in front of reviewers, instead of using video presentations.
4. Presentations directly in front of reviewers can use slides that have been submitted in the slides link Submissions.
5. Presenters who are unable to attend in person should pay attention to the following rules:
· Before the parallel session begins, the PIC room ensures the presence of the presenter.
· Presenters join breakout rooms based on the name of the scope, which will be shared later (parallel session.link) by the The 4th ICOSED in Conjunction The 2nd ICESSEd committee.
· Your pre-recorded presentation video will be played by the room PIC during your slot in the respective parallel session.
· You may receive feedback and questions posted by the viewers during the Q&A session after your pre-recorded video presentation. Kindly respond promptly.
6. The presentation time will be 3 to 5 minutes.
7. The presentation must be in English.
8. The review and Q&A process lasts for 3 minutes.
9. The Q&A process can be actively followed by all presenters or participants.
10. If there are things that need to be asked, please contact the respective PIC room. (parallel session.link).
C. Publication Ethics
1. Our ethic statements are based on COPE’s Best Practice
Guidelines for Journal Editors.
2. Publication Decisions
The editor is responsible for deciding which of the articles submitted to the journal should be published. The editor may be guided by the policies of the journal’s editorial board and constrained by such legal requirements as shall then be in force regarding libel, copyright infringement and plagiarism. The editor may confer with other editors or reviewers in making this decision.
3. Fair Play
An editor at any time evaluate manuscripts for their intellectual content without regard to race, gender, sexual orientation, religious belief, ethnic origin, citizenship, or political philosophy of the authors.
4. Confidentiality
The editor and any editorial staff must not disclose any information about a submitted manuscript to anyone other than the corresponding author, reviewers,
potential reviewers, other editorial advisers, and the publisher, as appropriate.
5. Disclosure and Conflict of Intereset
Unpublished materials disclosed in a submitted manuscript must not be used in an editor’s own research without the express written consent of the author.
D. Duties of Reviewers
1. Contribution to Editorial Decisions
Peer review assists the editor in making editorial decisions and through the editorial communications with the author may also assist the author in improving the paper.
2. Promptness
Any selected referee who feels unqualified to review the research reported in a
manuscript or knows that its prompt review will be impossible should notify the
editor and excuse himself from the review process.
3. Confidentiality
Any manuscripts received for review must be treated as confidential documents.
They must not be shown to or discussed with others except as authorized by the
editor.
4. Standards of Objectivity
Reviews should be conducted objectively. Personal criticism of the author is inappropriate. Referees should express their views clearly with supporting arguments.
5. Acknowledgement of Sources
Reviewers should identify relevant published work that has not been cited by the authors. Any statement that an observation, derivation, or argument had been previously reported should be accompanied by the relevant citation. A reviewer should also call to the editor’s attention any substantial similarity or overlap between the manuscript under consideration and any other published paper of which they have personal knowledge.
6. Disclosure and Conflict of Interest
Privileged information or ideas obtained through peer review must be kept confidential and not used for personal advantage. Reviewers should not consider manuscripts in which they have conflicts of interest resulting from competitive, collaborative, or other relationships or connections with any of the authors, companies, or institutions connected to the papers.
E. Duties of Authors
1. Reporting Standards
Authors of reports of original research should present an accurate account of the work performed as well as an objective discussion of its significance. Underlying data should be represented accurately in the paper. A paper should contain sufficient detail and references to permit others to replicate the work. Fraudulent or knowingly inaccurate statements constitute unethical behavior and are unacceptable.
2. Originality and Plagiarism
The authors should ensure that they have written entirely original works, and if the authors have used the work and/or words of others that this has been appropriately cited or quoted.
3. Multiple, Redundant or Concurrent Publication
An author should not in general publish manuscripts describing essentially the same research in more than one journal or primary publication. Submitting the same manuscript to more than one journal concurrently constitutes unethical publishing behaviour and is unacceptable.
4. Acknowledgement of Sources
Proper acknowledgment of the work of others must always be given. Authors should cite publications that have been influential in determining the nature of the reported work.
5. Authorship of the Paper
Authorship should be limited to those who have made a significant contribution to the conception, design, execution, or interpretation of the reported study. All those who have made significant contributions should be listed as co-authors. Where there are others who have participated in certain substantive aspects of the research project, they should be acknowledged or listed as contributors.
The corresponding author should ensure that all appropriate co-authors and no inappropriate co-authors are included on the paper, and that all co-authors have seen and approved the final version of the paper and have agreed to its submission for publication.
6. Disclosure and Conflicts of Interest
All authors should disclose in their manuscript any financial or other substantive conflict of interest that might be construed to influence the results or interpretation of their manuscript. All sources of financial support for the project should be disclosed.
7. Fundamental errors in published works
When an author discovers a significant error or inaccuracy in his/her own published work, it is the author’s obligation to promptly notify the journal editor or publisher and cooperate with the editor to retract or correct the paper.
F. Open Access Statement
This journal provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge.
